Giles Ranyl Rhydwen

Ranyl Rhydwen

Lecturer, Thesis Supervisor

Background

I feel there is a pressing need to research and learn how to adapt to the environmental changes coming and to living without fossil fuels; as well as working out how to actively remove greenhouse gases from the atmosphere as soon as possible.

My lecturing and teaching areas include climate change and adaptation development, building physics, thermal computer modelling of buildings, carbon sequestering building materials.

Qualifications

MB. ChB, UWCM
M.R.C.P (Lond)
PgDip Intelligent Systems, University of Sussex
MSc AEES (Distinction): University of East London

Research Interests

Currently leading research projects in the following areas: hemp and binder in terms of environmental Impact, in use performance and carbon sequestration potential; building physics including thermal and moisture transfer In buildings; computer modeling using IES and WUFI; Environmental Impact assessment methods; thermal renovation of buildings and permaculture principals.

Teaching Activities
