Background

20 years in consulting engineering, mostly in Zimbabwe with Ove Arup & Partners, involving project management and co-ordination of multidisciplinary services for industrial developments. Additional responsibilities included graduate engineer training as the firm’s Training Officer and implementing ISO 9001 as the firm’s Quality Systems Manager. From 2000 freelance consultant, undertaking Environment-oriented Cost Management (EoCM) with industries in Zimbabwe, Nigeria, the Philippines and China and implementing RISE (Resource Ingenuity for Small Enterprises) in Zambia and South Africa. This work has consistently involved participatory methods, training and presentation experience and working with diverse groups of people. Since 2008 tutoring at the MSc Architecture, Advanced Environmental Energy & Studies.
