Since 2000, CAT and the Graduate School of the Environment have been teaching people new skills for a transition to a low carbon future. We are renowned for the outstanding academic quality of our courses, our unparalleled teaching facilities and our unmatched experience in sustainability issues.  Graduates of the GSE number in their thousands and can be found working in all areas:

• Construction companies: As legislation changes the construction sector has enormous demand for architects and planners who can help deliver government targets. By 2016 all new build needs to be zero carbon.

• Architectural practices: As above but often smaller organisations and of particular interest to already qualified architects.

• NGO's (e.g. Development or Environmental): These often have very specific environmental agendas.  The positive solutions led focus of the GSE means that CAT graduates are essential to solution driven organisations.

• Renewables:  The design and installation of the renewable energy systems requires particular expertise.  Courses at CAT equip students with the right skills to be able to work in this important and growing field.

• Local Authorities:  Councils are at the forefront of drives to reduce emissions and increase energy efficiency. There are many job openings within local councils in rolling out green initiatives.

• Consultancies:  Many students have gone on to set up or work for consultancy companies. As the transition to a low carbon future begins, consultants who offer sound advice are in high demand.
