Background
Whilst studying for a degree in Human Geography, Sam spent a year working as an energy advisor at the Centre for Sustainable Energy. Having completed her degree and final year project investigating the role of NGOs within the sustainability movement, she went on to study on the MSc AEES. Drawing upon her experiences at CSE, Sam’s thesis explored attempts to reduce household electricity use.
Sam joined the Distance Learning team at GSE in 2007 as a researcher and developer, helping to formulate the design and content of the DL AEES course. She then moved on to become the student support officer for the DL team, before becoming a DL tutor in 2009.
